DIY Decorative Pinwheels!
Pinwheels are great for event decor and easy to make! They can be used for backdrops, photobooths, dessert bars and even home décor!
We’ve been OBSESSED with this adorable look and are ready to share a step-by-step DIY instruction below:
What you’ll need:
– Two sheets of 12×12 Scrapbooking paper
– Scissors
– Hot glue gun
Step One:
Take your first sheet of scrapbooking paper and cut it into four 6×6 pieces.
Step Two:
Take each 6×6 sheet and fold accordion style (back and forth) with a measurement of 3/4 of an inch.
Step Three:
Repeat the steps above with your second sheet of scrapbooking paper until you have a total of 8 accordion style folded sheets. Lay the paper out in a straight line by alternating each pattern.
Step Four:
Using the hot glue, glue the flap of one design onto the flap of the second design. Make sure the folds continue to go in the same accordion style. Repeat this until all 8 pieces of paper have been glued to one another. You should have a full straight line of accordion folds.
Step Five:
Once you have a straight line, take the last two flaps and glue them together. This will automatically pull the shape of your pinwheel into a tight circle. Note, the circle will likely pop upwards.
Step Six:
To help hold down the circle, cut out a piece of paper and hot glue it to the backside of the circle. This will weigh down the paper and allow the circle to lay flat. Do the same to the front side of the piece – and you’re done!
